Cassidy is a mostly balanced, high dexterity legend featuring the Hammer and Blasters as her weapons. She can be unlocked for 2300 gold. Wild West Marshal Cassidy Miller wears apparel very standard of her Western style, including a large cowgirl's hat. Having been on both sides of the law, acting as a legendary Marshall and dangerous fugitive, Cassidy has a keen sense of justice and is unafraid to deal it out with the heavy end of her hammer.

Feared by outlaws and vampires from the age of fifteen, Cassidy is the toughest marshal to wear the badge either side of the Bifrost. - Mallhalla purchase description

The Marshal of the Old West

Reward ($5000) for the capture, Dead or Alive, of ex-U.S. Marshal Cassidy Miller. Age 25, 5 feet, 8 inches. Brown hair and eyes. Wanted for dereliction of Duty, harboring a Fugitive Slave, aiding a Known Criminal, and Attempted Murder. Known companions include a Giant Cougar, a Twenty-foot Lumberjack, and a Cherokee Ghost. Armed and extremely Dangerous. - Poster, Nebraska Territory, 1853

When fifteen-year-old Cassidy Miller captured Wild Zeb and his gang, Zeb insisted his gun jammed and the sun was in his eyes. But outlaws soon changed their tune, and just five years later, Bloody Cal Johnson bragged from prison that Utah had been forced to call in the great Marshal Cassidy just to bring him down.

In her long career, Cassidy's insistence on justice for all earned her many unlikely friends, including "the meanest horse in the West", a giant cougar named Boots. But it also put her on the wrong side of the law when she joined the Underground Railroad and became a wanted fugitive herself. Later, Cassidy returned to law enforcement in dramatic style when President Lincoln begged her to track down the Bloodfang Rangers, a company of Confederate Vampires.

To Cassidy, Valhalla is like any other frontier boomtown in need of her rough brand of Justice. She's always on the lookout for suspicious types and reckons that trouble's brewing.

You just going to stand behind me looking all-fired stupid or are you going to draw? - Marshal Cassidy

Cassidy's 'Sixshooters' Revolvers

Wild West Marshal Cassidy Miller wears apparel very standard of her American style. Most importantly in her Wild West attire, Cassidy wears a very large, cream colored cowgirl's hat. Her hat is decorated with a pale blue ribbon that is wrapped above the wide brim of the hat. Her shining golden Marshall's badge also adorns her hat, showing both her status in the mortal world, and her keen sense of justice. Under her hat can be seen wavy shoulder length hair that frames her face, and is a reddish brown in color.

Also this shade of red-brown is her tan leather jacket, which is worn over a simple white cotton blouse. Her jacket is short in length, but has sleeves covering the length of her arms, which then lead to firm leather firms of a dustier, pale brown. There are also two golden buttons on her jacket, which match the gold of her Marshall's badge.

Cassidy's 'Rail Hammer' featuring Gnash and Thatch

Also golden is her belt buckle, which sits next to a gun holster of similar color to the belt itself. Amusingly, the gun holster is many times smaller than both Cassidy's guns, and her hands. The belt itself hold up a pair of dusty blue jeans, which in turn lead to a pair of knee-high, thick leather boots, which are the same dusty brown color as her golves. On each boot is a single steel spur, which denotes her ranching background, and is customary with her Wild West Marshall appearance.

Cassidy's Hammer and Blasters also reflect her Western heritage. The Sixshooters are two large, iconic revolver handguns with the typical six bullet cylinder. The hammer and sight of each gun is clearly visible, spiking out from the otherwise smooth barrels. The handles of each gun are pale brown wood. Her Rail Hammer is similarly iconic and non-decorative: a simple wooden pole with a standard steel hammer head attached at one end. The hammer's head has one blunt face, plus a curved claw on the other side.

Neutral “Yee-haw!” Cassidy fires her blasters upwards in the air in a diagonal, first one, then the other, slightly in front and then slightly behind. 20.15 to 24.49 22 12 -7 57 65 15 21 18

“Draw!” A rapid fast-draw double-blast from Cassidy's pistols in rapid succession – one directly in front, followed by another slightly above. Combos highlighted in green are considered Cassidy's most useful or most reliable combos
Weapon Input Opponent Requirements Minimum Dodge Frames Maximum Damage Usage and Notes
Damage Range Reliable Reads
Hammer DLight, NSig Any All - true combo 0 - true combo 24.04 • A KO option when opponent has enough damage.
• Non-Sig Hammer combos are often better, but harder.
Hammer DLight, Jump, GC, SSig Any • Opponent does nothing
• Opponent Spot Dodges
3 (0 vs Spot Dodge) 34.56 • Has more damage and force than the highlighted combo.
• Should only be used if certain of opponent's Spot Dodge.
Hammer NLight, Chase Dodge, NSig 0 only All - true combo 0 - true combo 38.47 • Strong string potential against opponents on low damage.
• One of best follow ups to NLight at low damage.
• Can use after 0 damage, but won't be true/reliable.
Blasters DLight, SSig 0 to 30 All - true combo 0 - true combo 47.54 • Other non-Sig Blasters follow ups which KO sooner or have more string potential are usually better.
Blasters SAir, SSig 0 to 10 All - true combo 0 - true combo 45.48 • This combo can be hard to execute perfectly, but is a good follow up to the Side Air.

Cassidy is one of a few Legends to have to the maximum 8 Dexterity, though her other stats make her an otherwise well-rounded Legend. Her high dexterity makes her very strong as a string based Legend - both her Hammer and Blasters have very high combo potential helped significantly by her dexterity, and fast Signatures. However, as well as being able to rush-down opponents and perform strings, the long range of both the Hammer and Blasters means she can play defensively and attack opponents from a distance. Whether a player focuses more on aggression or defense is down to personal style, though the best players are able to switch between the two styles. Her Sigs reflect this dual purpose style, as some are fast and short ranged attacks, while others are slower but longer ranged. Overall, Cassidy can be played in two distinct ways - learning which style to play and when optimizes Cassidy's strength.

Use of Signatures

Signatures: Cassidy
Blasters Neutral Like many Neutral Sigs, this attack is an anti-air, but a somewhat unusual one. Firstly, the attack hits mostly above Cassidy rather than at a diagonal. Also, its fast-produced hitboxes are fairly short-ranged but last a long time. This means the attack may need careful timing and works best against opponents looking to get close to Cassidy. BlastersCassidy2.png
Blasters Side A typical Side Sig, but with some notable differences. Like her Neutral Blasters, the hitboxes are short-ranged but appear quickly, cover a big vertical area and last a long time. Best used against opponents looking to get close to Cassidy. Also good for punishing opponents’ dodges/dashes and movements. As above, careful timing is very helpful.
Blasters Down An unusual but useful Down Sig. It creates a long-lasting danger zone on the ground level relative to Cassidy’s positioning – which makes it hard for opponents to approach from below or the sides. It also sends the opponents flying downwards if used over the edge, which is good for edge guarding. However, it does nothing against aerial opponents, and its long start-up and recovery time make it unsafe on a miss.
Hammer Neutral A classic anti-air, but a very good and safe one. Very fast speed – can grab opponents out of the air before they can react or hit you. Cassidy’s Hammer Down Light easily combos into this Signature. HammerCassidy2.png
Hammer Side Again – a classic forward attack that’s very good at its job thanks to fast speed. Okay range and mostly safe. Use its speed to punish the opponent when they make a poor dodge/dash or movement in general.
Hammer Down By far Cassidy's most unusual Signature, and rarely used because of that. Big range and high surprise factor, which can catch opponents unaware if they don’t expect you using it or seeing it go this far. However, the reason it is underused is because it’s very slow to start and very easy to predict when you see it; also, it is unsafe, especially if Cassidy goes over the edge. Use this Sig sparingly.

  • Cassidy's default weapons are the Sixshooters (blasters) and the Rail Hammer (hammer).
  • Cassidy's robot name is Cassibot.
  • The giant lumberjack mentioned in Cassidy's wanted poster is likely a reference to Paul Bunyan, a hero from American folklore.
  • Cassidy was one of the first four Legends to be developed for the game, the others being Bödvar, Lord Vraxx and Orion.

Build Changes
3.16.0 Fixed a bug causing “Masked Hero Cassidy” skin to have a long neck in character select
3.8.0 • Cassidy Side Hammer: Fixed a case where the target could be dropped before the final hit when slide charging towards a corner. (Credit: WorldOfBay)
3.6.0 A number of Signatures for underperforming Legends have received increases to reward or benefits to their utility. Cassidy has received reward increases to bring them closer in line with similar options across the roster.
 • Cassidy Neutral Hammer: Increased Damage from 15 to 20.
Open Beta
Build Changes
2.73.0 We have shifted power from Cassidy’s downward-directed Blasters Signature into her upward-directed Signature. The hit window for the Down Blasters is now identical for all blasts, allowing a greater degree of counterplay when advancing against this power. The Neutral Blasters, however, was trailing behind other similar options, so we have increased the reward and responsiveness for greater use of this Signature.
 • Cassidy Down Blasters: Reduced hit window of final shot from 12 to 8 to match timing of the previous blasts; Decreased Recover time from 19 to 17.
 • Cassidy Neutral Blasters: Increased Damage from 19 to 22; Decreased Minimum Charge from 8 to 6.
2.68.0 • Cassidy Down Hammer: Fixed a case where the target could be dropped before the final hit. (Credit: Snackxs, NoviBliss)
• Cassidy Side Hammer: Fixed a case where the target could be dropped before the final hit. (Credit: Jaximus)
2.67.0 We have shifted some power from Cassidy’s Side Hammer into her Down Hammer. The Side Hammer is a very fast attack so we have decreased the knockout potential as requested. To compensate, we have decreased the Time to Hit for the Down Hammer, making that attack more responsive in combat.
 • Cassidy Side Hammer: Decreased Force from 54 Variable/75 Fixed to 51 Variable/75 Fixed.
 • Cassidy Down Hammer: Decreased Minimum Charge time from 19 to 17.
2.59.0 • Updated the animation on Cassidy Down Blasters to better display the individual blasts.
2.52.0 Increased travel speed to push effective threat farther forward and make Signature harder to outrun.
 • Cassidy Down Hammer: Slightly increased travel speed throughout the power duration.
2.45.0 • Cassidy Side Blasters: Fixed a case where the target could be dropped before the final hit. (Credit: DRG-Piox)
2.29.0 • Signatures whose travel speed was affected by Dex retain their current travel speed but are no longer affected by stances: Cassidy Down Hammer
2.12.3 Cassidy’s Lasso has been rehitboxed to better follow the animation, giving it a slower Time to Hit but a faster bloom to its maximum threat range. Its Damage has increased slightly.
 • Cassidy Neutral Hammer: Removed hitboxes from initial frame on release, increasing Time to Hit from 7 to 10. Decreased Hit Window from 14 to 12; Increased Damage from 13 to 15.
2.10.0 • Cassidy Neutral Blasters: On first frame of hit window, movement speed is capped at 15.
• Cassidy Side Blasters: On first frame of hit window, movement speed is capped at 15.
• Cassidy Down Blasters: On first frame of hit window, movement speed is capped at 15.
• Cassidy Neutral Hammer: On first frame of hit window, movement speed is capped at 34.
2.9.0 Cassidy had a habit of aiming for the corners of the map with her signatures, which made her have to work harder for kills from the center of the map than her Force would suggest.
 • Cassidy Neutral Blasters: Aimed direction of Force more upward.
 • Cassidy Side Blasters: Aimed direction of Force more horizontal.
 • Cassidy Neutral Hammer: Aimed direction of Force more upward.
 • Cassidy Side Hammer: Aimed direction of Force more horizontal.
2.8.0 • Cassidy Side Hammer: Updated hurtboxes to better match animation.
2.4.0 Cassidy continues to be considered one of the weakest Legends. We're giving her a little more Force and giving her Down Blasters signature some new utility as an edge guard.
 • Cassidy Neutral Blasters: Increased Variable Force from 55 to 57.
 • Cassidy Down Blasters: If the target is far enough below Cassidy, the Force will be directed diagonally downwards; Increased Variable Force from 53 to 57; Shots are hitboxed on both sides for all frames rather than alternating between left and right; Slightly reduced hitbox sizes to better match animation.
2.3.1 Cassidy is one of the weaker legends at the moment, which seems to hold true across winrates, tierlists, community feedback, and usage. We're continuing to make small buffs to her signatures and give more of her quickdraw identity back.
 • Cassidy Side Blasters: Reduced Recover Time from 20 to 18.• Cassidy Down Blasters: Reduced Recover Time from 21 to 19.
2.1.0 Cassidy has fallen pretty heavily out of favor, and doesn't feel like a strong choice at the moment. We're giving a little more of her characteristic quickdraw to a few of her signatures.
 • Cassidy Down Blasters: Slightly reduced Time to Hit.
 • Cassidy Side Hammer: Rehitboxed to better match animation; Slightly reduced Time to Hit.
Closed Beta
Build Changes
1.19.4 It’s time for Cassidy to recover from her low win rate and get back on her horse. For now we're giving her a fairly conservative buff while waiting to see what impact some of the larger dodge and Blaster changes have on her.
 • Cassidy Down Blasters: Slightly increased Force.
 • Cassidy Side Hammer: Slightly increased Force.
1.17.0 Powers that "grab" had logic to prevent them from being interrupted when hit. These cases happen a lot more in 2v2 and can feel broken and unsatisfying. We'll be keeping an eye on these individual moves to see if it becomes too easy to save teammates caught by them.
 • Cassidy Neutral Hammer: Removed period where user cannot be interrupted during grab.
1.14.0 • Cassidy Down Hammer: Rehitboxed to better match animation; Hitboxes are less generous behind Cassidy; Reduced Damage.
• Cassidy Side Blasters: Slightly Increased Time to Hit; Slightly Reduced Damage and Force.
1.13.0 • Cassidy Side Blasters: Slightly decreased Force; Slightly increased Recover Time.
• Cassidy Down Hammer: Increased Recover Time.
1.12.0 • Cassidy Hammer Side and Hammer Down: Made charge up poses less similar for readability.
1.11.0 • Cassidy Side Blasters: Decreased Damage and Force.
1.9.1 • New special buildup sounds for Cassidy, Teros, Gnash, Nai, Scarlet, Sentinel, and Vraxx.
1.7.0 Ada, Cassidy, Lord Vraxx, and Scarlet now have unique powers for all Heavy ground attacks with both weapons.
• New base art for Cassidy.
1.5.2 • Cleaned up Cassidy's Hammer sfx by removing some trailing elements.
1.1.0 • Dragon's Doom: Increased minimum charge time, decreased Force.
1.0.0 • New beefed up fx for Cassidy High Noon.
• Cassidy's Blaster fx no longer flipping on occasion.
Build Changes
0.5.0 • Cassidy has had an art rework to better match the other characters and tone of the game.
0.4.0 • 2 Weapons: Each character now has two melee weapons they can use in combat. Picking up a weapon drop randomly gives your character one of their two weapons.
• Cassidy High Noon: Adjusted hitboxes to fix cases where the first shot wouldn't chain into the second.
0.3.0 • Legend specific attacks now activate when pressing the heavy button without a direction. The normal neutral attacks have been moved to the down attack.
0.1.0 • Each Legend in Brawlhalla now has 4 special powers, one for each weapon!
• Each Legend now has different stat allocations.
• New colors and minor costume change for Cassidy to help in-game readability.
0.0.1 • Cassidy is added to the game
